I saw The Gamers: Dorkness Rising on the weekend. Twice.

It follows a group of roleplayers as their game crashes and burns, and then starts over with new characters and a new member. We see both the group around the table (and other diverse locales), and the characters themselves as they are pitted against goblins, necromancers and the frailty of bards.

I really wasn't expecting much after the original movie, which had its moments but was all a bit tedious. This one is genuinely funny, and much recommended. The jokes aren't really cutting edge, but they are delivered with flair and enthusiasm -- and just enough polish to get away with it. Good performances, rough and ready SFX that do what is necessary, and I have seen worse fight choreography in my time.

Speaking of gaming, I got my 'World Explorer' achievement in WoW yesterday. There is little visual record of these perambulations, but nonetheless: my so-called life.
