I think I've already covered most of the things that will be trying to distract us in the next week. On Wednesday there is the Wolf Creek Q+A, and on Thursday there is the EyeScream festival (we watched the films already, since we're judging them, and it's going to be a good night). Also on Thursday is a Raiders of the Lost Ark adaptation thing at Popcorn Taxi, which sounds pretty interesting.
Here's something else, though it probably doesn't count as a distraction, since by Sunday night it will be all be academic. Kyla is going to be on TV.
Well, maybe. She was an extra in Mary Bryant (Channel Ten, 8:30 30/10), a new mini-series about an escape from the early Australian colonies. That seems interesting enough (and it's up for quite a few AFI awards, for what that's worth), but I'll probably be spending half the time seeing if Kyla pops up in the background anywhere.
Oh yes, there is an open call for Viking Warriors to attend to Maritime Museum next Friday, so if anyone wants to know more about that, drop a note.
Meanwhile, I am probably painting far too altruistic a picture of our dedication to the current task. We've also managed to get some way into Season 2 of Dead Like Me (it's good, with hints of intriguing developments to come) and I played a game of RoboRally or two (current nifty board: Ring Road).
